About MED and these terms

These terms govern your access to and use of the MED website (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

MED is a trading name of Mednesia Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 08300000. Our registered office is W8A Knoll Business Centre, 325–327 Old Shoreham Road, Hove, United Kingdom, BN3 7GS.

MED is volunteer-led. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always available at this URL, with the date noted above.

Use of the website

The MED website is provided for informational and public-engagement purposes. You may browse, read, link to and share Site content for lawful purposes, subject to intellectual property rights and these terms. You must not:

• use the Site in any way that is unlawful, harmful or fraudulent;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its infrastructure;
• scrape, harvest or systematically extract substantial parts of the Site without our written permission, except where permitted by law;
• use Site features to send unsolicited advertising, spam or abusive communications;
• impersonate MED or any other person or organisation.

Medical and other information

Content on the MED website is provided for general information, education and public engagement. Nothing on the Site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Event descriptions, speaker information, venue details, programme copy, news and other content may change or contain errors. We make reasonable efforts to keep information useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free.

Upcoming third-party events

The homepage may highlight upcoming events and activities organised by third parties. These listings are provided for discovery and convenience. Unless clearly stated otherwise, they are not MED-run events and MED does not control their availability, booking arrangements, accessibility, prices, cancellation policies or other terms.

Always check the organiser’s official event page before making plans, booking or travelling. Registration with a third-party organiser is subject to that organisation’s own terms and privacy policy.

Past-events archive

The Past Events section is a historical archive of events that have already taken place. Past-event pages document completed MED events for reference and should not be interpreted as current listings, active booking pages or confirmation that an event will be repeated. Dates, times, venues, prices and other details shown in the archive relate to historical events only.

Current third-party event suggestions are shown in the Upcoming events section of the homepage. Information about the next MED Festival Week is available in the festival section of the homepage.

Third-party venues, organisers and services

Events featured on the Site may be hosted, ticketed or delivered by independent venues, institutions or organisers. MED is not responsible for the acts, omissions, services, content, safety arrangements or policies of those third parties. Their own terms and conditions apply to their services and events.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, original Site content, branding, graphics and the MED name and identity are owned by or licensed to MED and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit substantial parts of the Site without prior permission, except where permitted by law.

Event images, descriptions, trademarks and other materials sourced from third-party organisers or venues remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on the Site does not transfer any ownership rights to MED.

External links

The Site contains links to external websites. Links are provided for information and convenience; MED does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or remove content or features, including event listings, without notice. The Site may also be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond our control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MED and Mednesia Ltd accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on Site content, use or unavailability of the Site, or dealings with third-party organisers or websites linked from it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy and cookies

Use of the Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are acting as a consumer, nothing in these terms removes any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence, and you may have the right to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where you live. In other cases, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or use of the Site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Site and MED’s activities develop. The version in force is the version published on this page, and we will update the “Last updated” date above when material changes are made.
